Our martial arts classes are rooted in Okinawan Karate, Japanese Jujutsu, and Judo. The class focuses on philosophy, technique, and basic self defense.
The classes will be led by Mike Hardenburgh and Brent Doornbos.
The curriculum will consist of basic, easy-to-use techniques for every day life. Attention will be periodically paid to the more formal aspects of the martial arts as well. The student can expect to learn kata/forms and practice in a manner to show competence for examination or evaluation. The class is designed for any participant: whether interested in rank or simply gaining some useful information, all levels and focuses will be accommodated.
The class practices as vigorously as desired, but doesn't involve regular sparring or combat. Intensity will be self-managed according to each individuals interest or capacity.
