Philosophy
Expressions of Grace Yoga is dedicated to helping people of all ages and abilities, sizes and shapes, to improve their health and live with more vitality and joy through the integration of body, mind and heart.
The practice of yoga has been shown to relieve stress, increase energy, and develop strength, balance, flexibility, patience and mental focus. Yoga will cultivate a mind that is contemplative. Difficult postures will be incorporated, but not at the expense of this intention. Many students may begin the practice as a physical form, but over time will find the many layers of self exploration which will lead to yoga.
Our well-trained, warm and engaging instructors include teachers with specialties in therapeutics, philosophy, stress-reduction and restorative yoga. We do not adhere to any one philosophy or school of yoga. In an effort to practice non-attachment (a core yogic philosophy), we recognize that there is more than one way to practice yoga. .
Students who want to deepen their practice will find their yoga home at Expressions of Grace as they advance by moving from the gross to the subtle, the external to the internal. “Yoga is not about the pose”—our goal as advanced students is not to learn more poses; rather, a student advances in their practice by witnessing more subtle sensations and awareness.
Journey the river within. As we venture the journey inward on our mats and cushions, we have the unique opportunity to retreat from the distractions and noise of the outer world. This refuge builds our inner resources so that after each practice we return to our interactions with the world with more ease, connectedness and love.
Our studios offer classes from gentle and restorative to vinyassa and Ashtanga. We also host numerous workshops and retreats.
